Bias is an unfortunate creation of our upbringing. For myself, I have realized I have a bias towards drug addicts. I often find myself quickly blaming them for any illness that befalls on them. It is only until I stop myself and think, that I change my attitude. This is the only way physicians, and people alike, can change bias. By stopping and thinking about why they are thinking the way they do.
