Our recent session about homelessness made me realize that homelessness can take several forms, and thus my questions to patients about their living situation have changed. I have learned to ask more specific questions like who they live with, and if they own the house… This opened up more questions about their relationship with their children and their financial dependence and this was really enlightning. In addition, the impact of the living situation on their medical problems became evident. For my next clinic encouters, my aim is to be introduced to resources that I can use to assist them.
