Homelessness is one of the most difficulty issues that I believe our patients live. Figuring out where to obtain shelter from extreme weather climates or to seek safety is a stress on the body and mind in its self. Many of our patients are homeless and do not know where they would sleep at night. Us as physician we cannot eliminate homelessness but we can help and provide resources for our patients to find a safe place to live in till they can figure a plan. I learned about the 211 number to call in order to help provide a shelter for my patients. Finding a safe place to be in, can be a start in order to help with controlling the many comorbidities that our patients have.
