MS. L is a 35 year old lady with H/o PCOS who has been trying to conceive for a long time. She was trying to lose weight but was not succeeding. Her BMI was in overweight category. She said that I have been not able to lose weight as can not stay compliant to diet and exercise. I have explained her the importance of the lifestyle modifications and their importance in treatment of PCOS in addition to medical management.
On further questioning, as I asked her the home situations and daily life stress. I found out that she recently lost her job and having stress in marital life and that decreases the drive to exercise and even be compliant to the meds.
So I found out that it is always important to find the cause if patients are not following the healthy habits and sometimes if a cause is manageable then we can help our patients to have more healthier lifestyle.
